Hasbro Reveals New Transformers Selects Artfire

I’m not sure why Artfire is a thing. Almost everytime there is a new mold for Grapple/Inferno, there is a special release for Artfire. Now, don’t get me wrong. The color deco of the bot is nice. I think the problem I have with this character is that he’s a character from the Targetmaster/Headmaster era from late in G1. The toys came over, but the corresponding cartoon episodes didn’t, so I don’t have much of a connection to characters from that time.

Even though both Artfire and Nightstick are new decos of previous figures, the molds they are based on are good enough to warrant another purchase. This set is now up for preorder on Entertainment Earth and other sites. Click the image below to preorder.

Transformers Generations Selects Artfire and Nightstick

Speaking of having a connection to the characters, this past Friday Hasbro revealed three new Studio Series figures; Slag, Wreck-Gar and Gnaw.

This is the Wreck-Gar I have always wanted. Bot mode? Perfect. Vehicle mode? Gorgeous. This will be replacing my Generations Junkion figure on my Season 3 shelf. I have Walgreens exclusive POTP Wreck-Gar, but that figure is just okay.

When I saw the images of Slag, I knew immediately I would have to get Grimlock. It’s the only ’84 movie figure I have yet to pick up. Usually when they make the Dinobots nowadays, Grimlock is is usually a Voyager and the others are deluxe sized. That changes with the Studio Series. Grimlock? Leader class. Slag? Leader class. As it should always be with the Dinobots.

This will be the first version of this character that I will ever purchase. Luckily it is a Studio Series so the deco and mold are super screen accurate. Loving the new Studio Series figures.

These are all up for preorder on Entertainment Earth and other sites.
