Hasbro’s Retro Marvel Legends line must be pretty successful now. We are consistently getting new figures from the line. It seems, however that we are only getting one full wave at retail and other figures as online or retailer exclusives. That is probably because the first run of figures, being mostly repaints, quickly found their way to the clearance section. I think I bought every figure but Black Widow for 6 bucks each. The second wave had spotty distribution, but a lot of those found their way to clearance as well. The X-men wave seemed to be pretty popular, but it didn’t get a full proper second wave. I would like a second wave, but that doesn’t seem like it will happen. It seems Hasbro is opting to give us individual releases with the card style and branding of the first waves and making them Fan Channel exclusives.
This particular figure will be a Fan Channel exclusive as well. Since the first wave of Retro Spider-Man figures have released, we have received a Deluxe Kingpin, Mysterio and now J. Jonah Jameson.
The last sort of Jameson we got was a head swap for the Chameleon figure from a few years ago. This time around he gets a proper Jameson body mold with vest and what looks like new forearms. The legs appear to be the same we have received multiple times with every suited character since Chameleon.
The release date is for Fall 2020, so expect preorders to ship out soon the estimated retail price is $19.99.
Hasbro also revealed another repaint, this time of the Punisher War Machine Helmet. This time it is a proper War Machine helmet. This will also release this Fall for $99.99.
