Today Hasbro revealed and put up for preorder the first wave of Legends figures based on the initial Disney+ Marvel offerings. Understandably they had to wait until after the finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The Build-A for this wave are the new wings made for the new Captain America, Sam Wilson, by the Wakandans. They made his new suit as well and resurrected Redwing.
The head sculpt isn’t perfect, but it gets the job done. This basically looks like Anthony Mackie.
The suit is a great homage to the suit he wore in the comics. Obviously changes were made to make it fit better in the MCU, but I like what they did.
I’m pleased they put Captain America on the box. That’s an important detail. This isn’t just Falcon. This isn’t just Sam Wilson. He is Captain America. Period.
I preferred Bucky’s suit from the movies. It made more sense for a guy called the Winter Soldier. This suit is a subtle homage to his suit when he was Captain America. The blue top and black pants very much so remind of that suit. The only way it could have been better was if the sleeve was black.
The guy everyone loves to hate, John Walker, U.S. Agent. The head sculpt is really good on this figure. They almost perfectly captured Wyatt Russel’s twitchy John Walker face.
This Zemo figure isn’t all that impressive. I mean, it’s screen accurate, but the design wasn’t all that interesting. They included the mask which is a plus, but just like the show, it doesn’t make sense why he needs it. He only wore it in Madripoor, where everyone already knew him.
That wraps up Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Now lets look at the Wandavision figures, Wanda and Vision.
For the most part, the Disney+ Legends are really good. Aside from Zemo, i like all of these. There is one more figure however. This next figure is from the next Disney+ Marvel show, Loki.
This is comparable to the Zemo figure, but it’s much better because of the face sculpt. Most MCU figures fail to get my dollars because the face sculpts are so blah. This has personality despite the drab clothing and colors.
This wave will probably sought after in the same manner the Netflix wave of figures was. Possibly even more so because of the Build-a-Wings that hopefully fit on the comic version from the Toys R Us Exclusive set. The set is up for preorder now.
