Yesterday and today, the Hasbro Marvel Legends team was on hand for a pair of panels where they revealed several new figures coming in next years Age of Apocalypse wave. Two were revealed at Lucca Comics and Games, and two at Manga Barcelona.
Sunfire is a figure I want so much! The design has always been one of my favorites and it is great to finally be able to get him. There was a previous figure of Sunfire in this form but I believe it was a retailer exclusive.
While it is cool to see Wild Child getting a release, I just don’t have much excitement for it. Perhaps if it was released in a two-pack with Sabretooth. Then you would have something.
This Jean Grey head sculpt is really good. It looks more like the heads that came in the Dark Phoenix two-pack than the recently released version in the three-pack.
I assumed, correctly it seems, that once we got the Jim Lee Beast we would soon get Dark Beast. I plan to get the whole wave in one shot, but if I have to grab just a couple of figures, this would be one.
With the conclusion of this weekend’s reveals, we now know what next years Age of Apocalypse wave will look like. Other than Wildchild, this looks to be a great wave. The only thing left to reveal is the BAF. However, Hasbro had the old Toy Biz Sugarman on display with the Toy Biz Dark Beast, so we may have already been given a pretty good hint as to who it’s going to be.
