Transformers Cyberforce will be a new 18 episode series and focuses on Bumblebee as he tries to repair his damaged memory chips and remember his purpose and mission on Earth is. The runtime for the episodes will be 11 minutes.
Naturally, there can’t be a new show and not have a tie in with new figures. The designs for these new figures look very G1-esque, which is nice. I like when we get modern interpretations of the 80’s era characters with slight updates. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. Just make it shiny.
Of course, with the show focused on Bumblebee, it is to be expected that we would get multiple of him. I’m not a huge fan of the focus Bumblebee has received in recent series and the movies. Transformers has a large amount of characters that would be great to follow as main characters like Prowl or even Hot Rod. Seriously, where is Hot Rod?
The new Optimus and Megatron figures look very much like they do in the IDW comics. The designs seem aimed at a younger audience, but I think older collectors will enjoy these as well.
Starscream and Shockwave also look great, though I am not a fan of Shockwaves alt mode. It looks pretty lame. I understand why we will probably never get a mass release Megatron in gun mode, but why not Shockwave. That Starscream mold will probably spawn a bunch of seekers.
Grimlock is always a fan favorite and this version looks great. Much better than the green and black he sports in the most recent series.
These figures will hit later this year probably around the release of the new series. Will you be adding these to your collection?
