So I stopped by my local Walgreens on my way home from work to grab a soda and some Arizona drinks. I can’t pass up the 2-for-one sale ever. And, as usual, I swing by the toy ais le to see if anything new has hit the shelves. Normally it’s the same shelf warmers, yellow Daredevil and such, but today I got a surprise. Medusa was just sitting there. I debated for a split second if I was going to get it. I am okn a budget, but I couldn’t pass.
Medusa is one of the exclusive Legends figures that Walgreens is getting and was revealed earlier this year along with Mr. Fantastic.
First let’s talk about this packaging. It looks like we are getting some nice box art featuring the talents of J. Scott Campbell. Very nice. It would be cool if we could one day get a poster book of all the Marvel Legends box art released thus far.
The figure looks good with a very minimal paint job. I don’t have the SDCC version to compare it to but I imagine it’s the same figure with a new deco.
There are no accessories for her unless you count her belt. I can’t help but feel this would have been better served being a two-pack with Black Bolt. Maybe we could have received an alternate head showing her attacking. As it is, her hair is best used to keep her standing.
I’m not sure if this will warm thge shelves or not. Plenty of these will be on shelves eventually so there’s no huge rush. It seems that Walgreens is getting all the characters related to Fantastic Four. Hopefully we will get the rest of the Inhumans one day.
