The Studio Series “86 is my favorite sub-line in the Transformers Brand. Finally, we are getting cartoon accurate figures that aren’t Masterpiece figures. While I enjoy all of them, the Dinobots are the stars of the line. At least until they figure out a way to get us a Megatron with his accurate Walther P-38 alt mode. Anyway, the Dinobots are great. Grimlock, which I passed on because I have the Masterpiece version, is great. Sludge, great. Slug, great. There are two remaining Dinobots and this week, Hasbro sent out official images to reveal the latest Dinobot, Snarl.

Every time we get a new Studio Series figure, I am impressed with the engineering and aesthetic of the figure. When I was a kid, these are the way I had envisioned them. I don’t love the price, but I love the figure. It would have been nice if they could figure out a way to fill the gap on the inside of the leg.
They also revealed a core class Ironhide. I think it’s a little unnecessary seeing as they already have a deluxe Studio Series 86 Ironhide on shelves right now, but they already had the mold from Ratchet so I can see why they would do this.
Both figures are now up for preorder on BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth and HasbroPulse.
