Been a while since the last update! Hopefully, this the first of many to get things back on track. Anyway, today was the second day of Hasbro’s PulseCon. PulseCon is their virtual convention revealing next year’s upcoming releases. Today was the day for the Marvel Legends team to reveal their offerings.
Next year marks the 20th Anniversary of the original Marvel Legends line released originally by Toy Biz. It has been rumored for a while that Hasbro would release a tribute wave similar to what they did with the 80th Anniversary comic figures. Today they revealed the 20th Anniversary Captain America and Ironman figures.
The packaging is meant to look like the original Toy Biz packaging along with the original Marvel Legends logo. I never purchased any of those original figures. I didn’t own a Marvel Legends figures until the Hit Monkey wave Archangel. They were still doing the bubble on cardboard with that wave.
Hasbro revealed some new MCU/Disney+ figures as well. I think I’m set for the nonce with what they already released. Truthfully, I only got the wave for the wings. I plan to put them on the comic version from the old Toy’s R US three-pack. If you missed out on the original MCU Winter Soldier figure, this would be a good chance for you to get that costume.
Joining the retro line are Scarlet Witch and Vision. These are just repackaged figures as they were both released in previous three-pack sets. I may get both just because I never got that Vision, Ultron and Hulk set and my Scarlet Witch from the Family Matters set had two left feet.
Lastly they have revealed a new sub-line based on the classic 90’s X-men cartoon. These are obviously just repaints, but the packaging is what really sells it. Actually, I think they may have new headsculpts, but honestly the packaging is the real draw. They look like VHS cassette boxes.
Hasbro also announced new figures are coming in the form of D’spayre, Vulcan and possibly Maggot. There will also be a Walgreens exclusive Zemo coming next year as well. A digital render of Knull, the Symbiote God was shown as well.
Preorders went up Saturday and are still available to preorder now on most sites including HasbroPulse, Dorksidetoys, BigBadToyStore and Entertainment Earth.
