Yesterday the Hasbro Marvel Legends team had a livestream revealing new products and preorders. Specifically, they revealed a new wave of retro figures based on the Fantastic Four.
Dedicating an entire wave to the Fantastic Four and limiting it to six figures seems like a missed opportunity. We’ve technically received two Fantastic Four waves already. The unofficial Walgreens wave and the recent SuperSkrull wave. They have a lot of characters in their orbit , so limiting it to six figures and four of them are the team seems like a missed opportunity to add new characters.
Nonetheless, the figures look good. Especially on card. I have a set preordered and I don’t believe I will be opening them. Part of the appeal of the retro lines are the cards. I think I’m becoming an in-box collector.
The preorder info says these won’t be coming out until next March. Perhaps it’s a placeholder date and they will ship earlier. There have been rumors it may show up in November. Or, like last year’s Hellfire set, they are making figures based on how many people preorder. Not sure. We will see. One things for certain, i want this set.
There are also a couple of Pulse exclusives coming in the form of a translucent Invisible Woman and a powered down Johnny Storm.
The main wave is up for preorder on all the Fan Channel sites including Dorkside, Entertainment Earth, BigBadToyStore and of course Pulse, though i think the individual figures are selling out there. I preordered the full wave from BigBadToyStore and the exclusives from HasbroPulse.
