It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago, but the current Marvel Legends Toxin figure is six years old. Time for an update, right? With how popular the Venom BAF and subsequent deluxe rerelease are, it’s not surprising Hasbro would go back to the well again with this mold.

Most of this figure is reused, but the parts that are new almost warrant a new purchase. The symbiote tentacles on the back are probably the best we have seen from Hasbro. Instead of just tentacles of varying length, there are little mouths on some of them.

The new head sculpt is also really good. It just looks plain monstrous. The fade on the paint job is nice, but it’s nothing spectacular. The real draw here is the head and this really good mold.

Whether this is a worthwhile purchase is up to you. If you have the previous version and were happy with it, and you already have a version of this mold, the only thing you are really missing out on is the tentacles. I’m on the fence. If it gets clearanced, I’ll get one, but i don’t feel like this is a hole i need filled in my collection.
