Toy Fair 2020: X-men Age of Apocalypse Wave Sugarman BAF Revealed

During NYCC last year, Hasbro put out an old Toy Biz Sugarman figure in the display with the figures they revealed that weekend. Most of us instantly knew that was going to be the BAF for this wave, but some still held out hope for AOA Sabretooth. Well, if you haven’t realized it by reading the title of this post, Hasbro finally revealed the full packaged images of the Age of Apocalypse wave with Sugarman as the BAF.

This is probably one of the coolest looking BAF’s I have seen since probably the old Toy Biz Onslaught. Sugarman is kind of an obscure choice, seeing as how he has never been a prominent villain in the comics, but after the original Age of Apocalypse story he was kind of influential. If you remember the old Mutant Massacre story where Angel lost his original wings, it was all set in to motion because Sinister recognized someone was appropriating his work to make the Morlocks so he sent the Marauders guided by Gambit to destroy them. This was because of Sugarman. He used his knowledge of Sinister’s techniques to make the Morlocks. It was a retcon, but it was kind of cool to see that he had that kind of impact on the Marvel universe.

Anyway, back to the figs.

X-Men Marvel Legends 2020 6-Inch Action Figures Wave 1

The packaging looks great with the X-men logo from that storyline and the Age of Apocalypse tag emblazoned on the tops of the boxes. Gorgeous.

When ink came out last year, I was hopeful for additional figures from that storyline, but I never would have imagined it would get an entire wave dedicated to it. Every figure is a must buy for me and I’m sure many other X-men fans.
