New Star Wars Black Series 6″ Figures Revealed At NYCC 2019

NYCC 2019 is done and Hasbro saved their Black Series reveals for Sunday. All the 6″ figures they revealed will be available this Fall with several being Fan Channel and retailer exclusives. First we’ll take a look at the mass release figures, then the retailer exclusives and finally the Fan Channel figures.

Fans have been asking for the Yavin Ceremony style figures for some time, so that is nice to see. Though it is not shown in the images, Hasbro says it will come with a ceremony inspired accessory. Hopefully it is the medal Leia put on Luke and Han, but not Chewie for some reason, at the end of A New Hope.

Hasbro revealed two upcoming Walmart Exclusive figures. While i don’t mind retailer exclusives in theory, Walmart is usually pretty bad and restocking the shelves in the toy aisle. Exclusives are even worse. The Vibranium Black Panther and Thanos were pretty difficult for most fans to buy and the recent Captain Marvel Binary figure didn’t hit the shelves until well after Endgame had come and gone. Hopefully it will be different with these two because fans are going to want these.

I’m probably not going to get the Yoda, but this Luke figure is a must buy. I almost exclusively buy the lightsaber wielders and none seems more essential to have than Luke in his black Jedi garb.

Best Buy gets a retailer exclusive. Weird. This will most likely get discounted pretty heavily, so no rush to get this at release.

Chewbacca & C3P0 Two-pack (Amazon Exclusive)

This is a cool set. I don’t currently have a Chewie or C3P0 in my collection, so I will be getting this set. What is really cool about it is that 3P0 can be taken apart and put in a soft goods sack on Chewie’s back like in Empire Strikes Back.

Besides the lightsaber wielding characters, the troopers are some of my favourite to buy. The lone Fan Channel Exclusive revealed is the Clone Commander Fox.
