A couple years ago, when Hasbro was doing the mini BAF thing, they released a Wolverine wave of figures that had a Sabretooth figure in his modern costume. I passed on it because it was not the version I wanted. I wanted the classic version that I saw on the show and in the comics growing up. Finally, Hasbro is giving us the Sabretooth I always wanted.
Sabretooth first appeared in Iron Fist #14 and was frequently an enemy of Iron Fist and Power Man. It wasn’t until the Mutant Massacre that he was brought in as a minor X-men villain.
This costume he wears is the one designed by Jim Lee during his run on the 90’s X-men comic. It is the most widely recognized and my favorite.
I think the facesculpt on this figure is pretty good, though I am a little disappointed that the jaw looks like it is a separate piece attached to the head. It looks weird.
The articulation is pretty good. It would have been great if they included butterfly joints for the arms.
He doesn’t come with any accessories or alternate hands. The only separate piece is the fur collar, though I consider it part of the costume so, again, no accessories. The wash on it is nice.
Overall, it’s not the greatest thing ever, but I still like it and it looks great in my collection. This figure is on shelves and online now. To order yours head to Entertainment Earth now.
