I was a big fan of the Thunderbolts comic that Marvel used to put out. It had the interesting concept of having villains pose as heroes. Some remained villains at their core while others, like Songbird, eventually became true heroes.
I was excited when the initial images of Songbird surfaced. She was displayed with her shorter haircut that she was rocking when Luke Cage ran the team. I’m disappointed she didn’t come with this head sculpt, but the one the did ship her with works better for a classic look.
Her articulation is what you would expect from a female Marvel Legends figure, so no surprises there. What is surprising is that they did not include some alternate hands. They work fine for flight poses, but not for static poses. That being said, her only accessory is a giant sound construct to mimic what her powers look like when she uses them to fly.
I’ve had this figure for a while and I’m pretty pleased with it. I just wish I could pick up an SDCC Thunderbolts set for a reasonable price. With Songbird in my collection, my Thunderbolts lineup now consist of her, Radioactive Man and Boomerang. I’d include Shocker but his costume doesn’t have the Thunderbolts logo. You can pick up this figure and more at Entertainment Earth.
