I first saw this figure on shelves a couple of months ago, but for some reason I passed on it. I can’t remember why exactly, probably budget reasons. After the first initial release, this exclusive was a ghost. The only place that it could be located was Ebay and I didn’t want to pay pay aftermarket prices. Was it worth the wait? Let’s take a look.

This version of Black Panther is based on his current suit in the Ta-nahesi Coates run of Black Panther. This is the powered up version of his suit, with the vibranium energy visible on the suit.

I think this is the Spider-Man 2099 body mold or maybe Sunfire used it first, but either way it is a nice upgrade over the Bucky Cap version. The articulation is very nice. You can get him into some nice action poses.

He is packaged with a decent amount of accessories. He comes with an an additional set of hands, so you can display him punching or clawing enemies. He has a couple of energy effect pieces that came with Sunfire, Human Torch and Iron Fist in a nice vibranium hue.He also has the necklace that the suit stores in when not in use as well as an alternate head without the vibranium effect and yellow eyes. I don’t think it makes sense to put the unpowered head on the powered body so it was gifted to my classic Black Panther. It fits but looks slightly too large for the body.

Since this an exclusive to Walmart, your only real chance to get this is to head to your local Walmart. If you missed it like me the first time, your best bet would be Ebay. Happy hunting.
