Superman: The Animated Series is criminally underrated. Almost no one talks about it. It may have been overshadowed by the Batman animated series and its Emmy award winning writing, but it was definitely a good show.
One of my favorite story arcs was the invasion of Metropolis by Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips. Those episodes stuck with me because of what Darkseid did to Turpin as he was leaving. Basically an ‘F’ You to Superman, he vaporized him as he was entering the boom tube back to Apokolips.
