DC Collectibles Essentials 6.75 Figures debuted at SDCC 2017″

Revealed at the 2017 SDCC and hitting retailers in 2018, is the all new DC Essentials line from DC Collectibles. Am I the only one wishing they would stick to a consistent scale for their figures?

DC Collectibles Executive Creative Director Jim Fletcher has this to say about the line: “DC Essentials will be an evergreen action figure line and will feature classic representations of DC Universe characters including Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman, among others,” said Fletcher. “These designs will embody the core of each character and will attract both our most dedicated fans and those just starting out with their collections. We’re thrilled to deliver these figures at the larger 6.75 scale and can’t wait for fans to see the new moveability that allows for more intricate poses. We’re excited to have Jason Fabok on board as the series’ designer–his stunning art style is a perfect match for DC Essentials. ”

New moveability. I hope that means thigh cuts and better head articulation. This is what is missing from the Icons line which I thought was the main line. There may be a little brand confusion, but if there is better articulation I can let it slide.

The first wave debuting in 2018 will feature DC-Essentials-Superman-AFSuperman, DC-Essentials-Batman-AFBatman, DC-Essentials-The-Flash-AFFlash and DC-Essentials-Aquaman-AFAquaman.

Wave 2 will hopefully hit shelves in 2019 and will consist of DC-Essentials-Deathstroke-AFDeathstroke, DC-Essentials-Wonder-Woman-AFWonder Woman, DC-Essentials-Green-Lantern-AFGreen Lantern and DC-Essentials-Nightwing-AFNightwing. The figures will all feature their Rebirth looks.

Hopefully this will be the main line going forward. With the added articulation(thigh cuts, yay!), I see this being a very popular line. Make sure you let your favorite shop know you want these. If they don’t order it, the line could die without us ever seeing the second wave. Show your support and preorder!
